Board-Certified Cardiologist Dr. Fintel is widely recognized as a Top Doctor in Chicago and nationally renowned for the past 10 years. Having accrued 40 years of experience in the field of cardiology, diagnosing and treating diseases of the cardiovascular system, and critical care medicine, he has garnered a laudable reputation. Among his professional experiences, he has served as an associate director of medical intensive care from 1985 to 1992 and the director of the coronary care unit for 18 years. He currently serves as a senior attending in Cardiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Treating each patient as if they were a member of his own family, Dr. Fintal continues his professional growth as an academic cardiologist involved in patient care, teaching, and research in cardiovascular disease.

Before embarking on the path to become a cardiologist, Dr. Fintel is a Yale University graduate magna cum laude in 1975, earning a Bachelor of Science. He went on to become a Doctor of Medicine through the Health Science and Technology Program of Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduating magna cum laude in 1979. After medical school, Dr. Fintel completed both an Internship and a Residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He went on to complete a fellowship in Cardiology at Johns Hopkins University from 1982 to 1985. He is board certified in internal medicine with a focus on Nuclear Cardiac Imaging, Medicolegal consultations.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Fintal remains up to date with the latest developments in cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and maintains an active membership with the American Heart Association. A respected voice in his field, he has been widely sought after nationally and internationally as an educational lecturer in multiple areas of Cardiology and a medicolegal consultant nationally.

In his free time, Dr. Fintel enjoys skiing, road biking, and hiking in his free time and spending time with his wife Dr. Robin Fintel, children Bara Fintel Ovadia, MD (married to Aaron Ovadia, MD), Joshua and wife Kate Fintel, Zachary, and granddaughter Maya Slava Ovadia.
