Throughout her education and training, Dr. Liang received her Bachelor of Science from Penn State University (University Park, PA) in 2000, and her Doctorate of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia, PA) in 2002 (M.D.). Following this, she went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) from 2002-2005 and her fellowship in Nephrology at the Mayo Clinic from 2005-2008. Dr. Liang is certified in Nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine (Professional License).

To further her professional development, Dr. Liang belongs to these esteemed organizations: National Kidney Foundation (NKF), American Society of Nephrology (ASN) – Fellow (FASN), American College of Physicians (ACP) – Fellow (FACP), and the American Medical Association (AMA). Additionally, she donates to various charities (Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) (monthly donor), Boy’s Town, Covenant House, Easter Seals, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, among many others).
