Ashburn, VA – David M. Band, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as the Medical Director, CEO, and Owner of Sterling Behavioral Health Services.
An acclaimed psychiatrist, Dr. Band is now the sole owner of the practice that grew from part-time clinicians to the largest behavioral health practice in Loudoun County generating approximately $3 million per year. His responsibilities include developing and implementing policies. In addition to his role at Sterling Behavioral Health Services, he offers his services at Crossroads Psychological Associates, Community Support Services, and at his private practice located in Takoma Park, MD. His areas of expertise include mood disorders, ADHD, pediatric auto immune, neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infection (PANDAS), and disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD).
In preparation for his career, Dr. Band earned an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a medical degree from the George Washington University Medical Center. He went on to work as an intern at Boston Public Health Hospital and a resident in psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health – St. Elizabeths Hospital. He received board certification by the American Board Psychiatry and Neurology.
Remaining abreast of advancements in his field, Dr. Band is a member of the American Medical Association and a former member of the American Psychiatric Association. He is active in philanthropic work, supporting and donating to a multitude of environmental groups, including the Sierra Club, Audubon, and Green Peace, as well as numerous social action groups.
