Dr. Pamela A.M. Mills is being honored with the Presidential Award in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to animal healing, philanthropy, and humanitarian service. A well known author, philanthropist, and advocate for animal welfare, she has dedicated more than four decades to improving lives through compassion, service, and leadership.
Dr. Mills currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Save a Dog, Save a Life and previously served on the board of SAVE A Friend to Homeless Animals, an animal shelter founded in 1941. Through these roles, she has devoted countless hours to promoting the health, safety, and well being of dogs and cats, while advancing awareness and support for animal rescue organizations.
In addition to her advocacy work, Dr. Mills is the author of At Home in Princeton The Art of Entertaining With Four Paws. The book blends engaging personal stories with practical guidance for hosting memorable gatherings, offering creative party themes and menu ideas designed to delight both four legged and two legged guests. The work reflects her love of hospitality and her belief that animals are an integral part of family life.
Dr. Mills earned her degree in Podiatric Medicine from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is a retired, certified homeopathic physician as well as a Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician, having practiced in both the United Kingdom and Canada. Her professional background has informed her holistic approach to healing and service throughout her career.
Philanthropy has been a central focus of Dr. Mills’s life. She founded an orphanage for HIV positive infants in South Africa and has served on the boards of several esophageal cancer foundations, a cause of deep personal significance following the loss of her mother to the disease. Her humanitarian efforts have earned her international recognition and widespread respect.
Dr. Mills has received numerous awards and honors for her work, including IAOTP Top Philanthropist of the Year in 2021, IAOTP Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023, and Empowered Woman of the Year. She was selected for IAOTP’s prestigious Presidential Award last year and will be honored with the Bombshell Boss Babe Award at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala next December at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.
Outside of her professional and philanthropic endeavors, Dr. Mills enjoys entertaining at her home in Pennsylvania alongside her beloved dogs. Looking ahead, she remains committed to expanding her philanthropic impact in honor of her late husband, whose unwavering support was central to her life and work.
