Birmingham, AL — Hossein Aziz, DO, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Distinguished Orthopedic Spine Surgeon.
Dr. Aziz earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in Riverside, CA and shortly after, moved his family to Birmingham, AL. The doctor then completed an AO spine surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He and his family chose to put down roots and raise their family in Birmingham after falling in love with the South.
Dr. Aziz is a part of the team of professionals at OrthoSports Associates practicing at Princeton Medical Center and Hoover 150. He is well trained to treat spinal pathology from the base of the skull down to the pelvis. He is particularly interested in cervical thoracic and lumbosacral degenerative disease, disc arthroplasty, minimally invasive surgical techniques, spinal deformity, spinal trauma, and spine surgery. Dr. Aziz has been with OrthoSports Associates for more than a year.
The doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS). The AOBOS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. According to Dr. Aziz, orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
He was inspired by both of his parents, who are retired physicians, to enter the health field, as he grew up seeing how rewarding it is to help sick people get well. Dr. Aziz educates his patients to help figure out the best treatment plan for them. He credits his success to his parents’ encouragement and the great mentors he has had.
In his spare time, the doctor enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and camping.
