Katherine Moyé — Dean of Students

Cleveland Heights, OH— Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Katherine Moyé is acknowledged as a Pinnacle Life Member for her contributions to the field of Restorative Practices Education.

Ms. Moyé pursued higher education at Syracuse University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Studies in 2004. She continued at Syracuse University receiving a Master of Education degree in Childhood Education in 2007. The educator also holds a license in childhood education grades 1-6 in New York.

Ms. Moyé has more than 16 years of experience in education and has held numerous academic leadership positions. In 2022, she assumed the role of Dean of Elementary School Students at the Urban Community School in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to this post, she was a lead teacher at the San Francisco Day School in California from 2017 to 2022. She also worked as a kindergarten teacher from 2015 to 2017 at The Carey School and as an educator from 2004 to 2006 with the Boys & Clubs of American, primarily in North Lake Tahoe.

The educator is dedicated to maintaining active professional affiliations with the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the National Association of Independent Schools. When considering her career, Ms. Moyé asserts that she takes great pride in her ability to serve as a leading academic figure representing and advocating for children of color as a Black woman and that this accomplishment stands as a significant source of personal fulfillment and achievement for her.
