Paramus, NJ – Michelle Thorpe, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Distinguished Woman in Healthcare and in acknowledgment of her work at Bergen New Bridge Hospital and her Private Practice.

Michelle Thorpe, MD, is a distinguished Psychiatrist treating patients of all ages. She is in private practice in Morristown, NJ. She is also on staff at the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, Summit Oaks Hospital, Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital, and St. Clares Hospital.
Dr. Thorpe has practiced medicine for thirteen years and has been in private practice for six years. Working with both children and adults, Dr. Thorpe treats numerous disorders. She listens closely to her patients as they describe their symptoms, and then she uses a mix of prescription medication and psychotherapy to address the issues. Patients seek her out to treat ADHD, depression, psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety issues, personality disorders, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
Dr. Thorpe loves teaching her residents and students at Bergen New Bridge Hospital outside of her clinical role. The hospital treats patients with specific issues relating to drug-induced mental disorders and alcohol-induced mental disorders and offers drug and alcohol dependence treatments.
Dr. Thorpe completed a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Child Psychology at Montclair State University. She then attended Ross University School of Medicine, where she completed her Medical degree. Dr. Thorpe next completed a Psychiatry residency program at Bergen Regional Medical Center from 2008 – 2012. To gain further experience, she then completed a two-year Fellowship Program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in 2014. She was the Chief Fellow in the final year of her Fellowship. As a result of her training and education, the doctor is board-certified in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a nonprofit organization that certifies qualified physicians in the medical specialties of Psychiatry and Neurology.
In her free time, Dr. Thorpe loves to spend time with her 26-year-old daughter. As a previous professional ballet dancer, Dr. Thorpe also enjoys exercising.
