Chestnut Hill, MA – Ruth C. Fretts, MD, MPH, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a 2020 Top OB/GYN in the field of Medicine for the accomplishments she has amassed at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Wellesley.
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Fretts boasts over 27 years of experience in her field. Serving the last 19 years in her current location, she provides patient-centered, individualized general OB/GYN services and specializes in stillbirth and menopause. A leader in her field, her research has focused on fetal movement and the prevention of still birth. Published in esteemed medical journals, her work has been cited by numerous medical professionals.
Beginning her medical career as a student at Queens University in Canada, Dr. Fretts earned a Doctorate of Medicine in 1987. She went on to complete both her internship and fellowship at McGill University in Montreal. Additionally, she obtained a Master of Science from the University of Ottawa.
To remain abreast of the changes in the OB/GYN field, Dr. Fretts is a chairperson for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Committee on Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, “Healthy Birthday”, and Massachusetts Medical Security.
In her free time, Dr. Fretts enjoys walking, reading, photography, and spending time with her dogs. She engages in volunteer activities and is charitable towards the Alzheimer’s Association.
