She then obtained her MD from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, followed by residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she also completed her MSc in Biometry and Epidemiology.
