In addition to his current appointment, he currently holds an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine position at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

To prepare for his career, Dr. Elbaz completed his undergraduate studies at the University of London. His acclaimed career began after he obtained his Medical degree at Cairo University and completed his anesthesiology training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He was elected to be the chief resident during his final year of training and later trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital center. After completing his extensive training, he was appointed to be the Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship Training program at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital.

Remaining abreast of the latest developments in pain medicine, Dr. Elbaz is an active member of the World Institute of Pain, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, International Spine Interventional Society, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He is also an NYS Pain Medicine committee member.

As a highly sought after lecturer, Dr. Elbaz has traveled the world over the course of his extensive career. He has trained many pain medicine specialists on the latest techniques in the field and presented at many conferences nationally and internationally.
