David Rodger Cantrell is an accomplished artist and designer known for his diverse range of creative works, including illustrations, interface and identity design, sculpture, and photography. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Cantrell has established himself as a prominent figure in the local art scene.
A cum laude graduate from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 2001, Cantrell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art. His educational foundation, combined with a commitment to artistic excellence, has enabled him to create impactful works that resonate with audiences.
Cantrell’s career is marked by significant accomplishments, including the creation of a bronze monument for the 200th Anniversary of the Constitution at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. He has also designed notable bronze monuments, such as one honoring President Ronald Reagan for the anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s fall. His illustration work has garnered recognition, earning him a Tulsa State Fair Award.
As the owner and creative director of the Cantrell Design Group, which he launched with his daughter, Danica Cantrell, he continues to innovate and inspire in the world of art and design. His previous experience as an artist and graphic user interface designer at Vanguard Mutual Funds further enhances his design expertise.
Cantrell is affiliated with the International Institute of Cultural Studies (IICS) and the local Chamber of Commerce, reflecting his commitment to fostering cultural appreciation and community engagement.
In memory of his late wife, Anne L. Cantrell, and in honor of his daughter, Danica Meri Cantrell, Cantrell continues to create with passion and purpose. He is driven by a philosophy that emphasizes the powerful impact of art, stating, “Art can be used for good or evil; it is very powerful.”
