Jonathan R. Berman — Plastic Surgeon

Boca Raton, FL— Jonathan R. Berman is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Distinguished Healthcare Professional Member for his contributions in plastic surgery.

Dr. Berman earned a BS in biology, graduating magna cum laude from Yale University. He earned his medical doctorate degree from S.U.N.Y. Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Berman’s surgical internship and residency was in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery and was completed at Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center. He completed a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Louisville. The doctor is double board certified in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and in plastic surgery and is owner and practitioner of Berman Plastic Surgery & Spa located in Boca Raton, Florida.

Dr. Berman concentrated on reconstructive plastic surgeries of the head and neck primarily due to cancer surgeries that had caused drastic imperfections to the patient early in his career. Currently, he focuses on cosmetic surgeries of the nose (rhinoplasty), eyes, facelifts, body, abdominoplasties, and cosmetic breast surgeries like breast augmentation. He also performs liposuction, and uses an array of soft tissue fillers and neurotoxins like botox in his private practice.

Dr. Berman is a double board-certified Boca Raton plastic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ABO-HNS). He currently serves patients at his private practice, Berman Plastic Surgery & Spa, where he specializes in breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, face lift, liposuction, and many other types of plastic surgery.

According to Dr. Berman, plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body.  It can be divided into two main categories: reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.

Dr. Berman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS); American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS); Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons; Palm Beach Society of Plastic Surgeons; and Broward County Society of Plastic Surgeons.

The doctor participates in fundraising for the Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Road Cycling for Multiple Sclerosis, various Jewish philanthropic groups, and supports his alumni associations, as well as his children’s schools. He is the past president of the Boca Raton Bicycle Club and works with the group to provide bicycles to underprivileged children. He regularly cycles 80-100 miles per week and participates in cycling charity events like Multiple Sclerosis 200, where he is a club 151 member. Club 151 members are the top 151 fund raisers and Dr. Berman has been honored with this distinction for the past seven years. He also plays in many charity golf events to benefit such causes as the American Cancer Society, AIDS, and the Ileitis / Colitis Foundation.  Dr. Berman is a strong advocate of bicycle safety and the importance of riding with a helmet and, under his leadership, the Bike Club donated 500 children’s bicycles and helmets during the Bicycle festival that were distributed at local elementary schools and the YMCAs at Boynton Beach and Boca Raton. In his spare time, he loves to play the piano, enjoys golfing, and is a model train enthusiast.

Dr. Berman has been married to Mrs. Barbara Berman for 38 years. They have two daughters, Alexandra and Brittany, and four grandchildren, Noah, Olivia, Wyatt, and Wilder.  His mentors include Norman Cole, MD, and his art history professor during undergraduate studies, Vincent Scully.
